Pastors Praise Millions Who Prayed Leading Up to Election

Reactions from Christian pastors and leaders to the victory by Donald J. Trump on Tuesday (Nov. 5, 2024) to become the 47th President of the United States included praise for those who simply but importantly prayed during the days leading up to the election.
“Movements always begin by not moving,” pastor and social media influencer Malachi O’Brien told Think Eternity News. “The historic victory by Trump began and was sustained by millions of people who will never be known but fasted, prayed, and took a stand at great risk. We are at the precipice of the ‘Great Spiritual Comeback’.”
O’Brien, who serves on the National Faith Advisory Board support team and attended the Trump victory party at the West Palm Beach County Convention Center with his son, Josiah, said that Pastor Paula White, Jenny Korn, and others have “forged the largest faith coalition in history for this moment and the days ahead.”
Eight days prior to the election, 3,200 Christian leaders met at the inaugural NFAB Summit at Worship with Wonders Church in Powder Springs, Georgia, to pray for the nation and Trump, who was interviewed by White on stage at the event.
Other Christian leaders pointed to the election victory for Trump as an “against all odds” moment in history.
“This is a day of God’s mercy on America,” evangelist and Think Eternity founder Matt Brown said on Wednesday, the day after the election. “Even with Big Tech, Big Government, Legacy Media and more, who relentlessly gaslighted the American people, and the fact there were dozens of indictments against Trump, and two assassination attempts, a record number of Americans of diverse ethnicities and creeds voted for Donald J. Trump to again serve as President of the United States.”
Brown was at the NFAB Summit. “President Trump cares a lot about people of faith, and all Americans,” he said. “He has ‘prayer force one’ behind him as he does what God has put on his heart to do. A lot of us will be praying for Him.”
Forever Forged in Our Soul
Many Christian leaders recognized God’s hand on the election.
Pastor and Truth Over Trend ministry leader Matt Maher said, “This is indeed a great relief but it is more so a great grace. So as believers, we know this was not by man's merit, but by God's mercy. Church, do not lose sight of this imperative truth.”
Lee University professor Jason Robinson shared with Think Eternity News that as a “Christian husband, father, and proud United States citizen, I’m filled with renewed optimism for our nation’s future.”
Robinson said, “I am truly inspired by the leadership we see in President Trump. This election outcome reflects a collective desire to embrace values that are close to the hearts of many—faith, family, safety, and opportunities for economic growth. It’s inspiring to witness people from so many walks of life come together with hope for a brighter future. I look forward to the years ahead, confident in the positive changes that can unfold with the team that’s taking shape, including exceptional leaders like Vance, Musk, Kennedy, and Gabbard.”
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Evangelist and Harvest pastor Greg Laurie pointed to a statement Trump made during his victory speech in the early morning hours at the watch party in West Palm Beach.
“God spared my life for a reason — to save our country and restore America to greatness.” — Donald J. Trump
Laurie responded on social media: "I believe this is true. America needs restoration. President Trump could have died so easily in the assassination attempts on his life, but God did indeed spare him. When President Ronald Reagan was shot early in his presidency, he too felt God had spared his life. The night Reagan returned to the White House he confided in his diary, 'Whatever happens now I owe my life to God and will serve Him every way I can.'
Ronald Reagan went on have one of the greatest presidencies in American history."
Laurie concluded, "Let’s pray now for President Trump that he will be surrounded by godly and competent people who will give him good counsel in the days ahead. God bless President Trump and God bless the United States of America!"
