16 Biblical Prayers for Those Without Christ

1. Pray with thanksgiving for what God has already been doing first, then watchfully
"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." (Colossians 4:2, NIV).

2. Pray for harvesters
Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”  Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness." (Matthew 9:35-10, NIV).

3. Pray for both the sowers and the reapers
"Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together." (John 4:36)

4. Pray for eyes to see the harvest right now
"Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." (John 4:35).

5. Pray for the veil to be removed on the lost
"And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Corinthians 4:3-4, NIV).

6. Pray for wisdom when to share the Gospel
"Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to." (Acts 16:6-7, NIV).

7. Pray for open doors to share the Gospel
"Pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains." (Colossians 4:3, NIV).

8. Pray that we would proclaim the Gospel boldly and fearlessly
"Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." (Ephesians 6:19-20, NIV).

9. Pray that we would proclaim the Gospel clearly
"Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should." (Colossians 4:4, NIV).

10. Pray that the Holy Spirit would both draw people and convict of sin
"When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment." (John 16:8, NIV).

11. Pray that God would give growth
"What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor." (1 Corinthians 3:5-8, NIV).

12. Pray persistently
"Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said:“In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.  And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:1-8, NIV).

13. Pray with faith
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24, NIV).

14. Pray for fruit that would remain
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you." (John 15:16, NIV).

15. Pray for unity in the Church that would be a light to the lost
"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17:20-23, NIV).

16. Pray that Christ may be glorified!
"Help us, O God our Savior, for the glory of your name!" (Psalm 79:9, NIV).
