Why is the Bible so important?
The Bible is the most amazing book in all of history. The history of how the Bible has come to us today is an astonishing story:
The Bible has proven over and over its historical accuracy, and has continually proven true with each new archeological discovery. Much evidence is available to trust the accuracy of the Bible.
Many people have worked to bring the Bible to new people groups and new languages, and have done so at great personal cost. Their sacrifice and passion speaks volumes about the great worth of the Bible.
The Bible has shaped and influenced countless people in every part of world history. God has used the Bible to save and mobilize billions of people to do great good in the world.
The Bible tells about itself that it is not simply words from men, but the very Words of God Himself to us. The Bible contains 66 books written over a 1,500-year span by 40 writers from every walk of life: kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, statesmen, and scholars. Yet all of them wrote about one thing: God’s redemption of humanity.

My friend Jon has said, “We spend billions of dollars as a society to look good on the outside while starving our soul on the inside. We invest in what is temporary and ignore what is eternal. The greatest investment we can make is our soul.”
Reading and meditating on the Bible is the best way to feed our soul. The Bible is meant to be “bread” for daily use, not cake for special occasions. It’s not enough to read the Bible once and then move on. We need to keep coming back to “bread” from heaven that God has given us in His Word, the Bible.

DL Moody once said, “A quickening that will last must come through the Word of God. A man stood up in one of our meetings and said he hoped for enough out of the series of meetings to last him all his life.
I told him he might as well try to eat enough breakfast at one time to last him his lifetime.
That is a mistake that people are making; they are running to religious meetings and they think the meetings are going to do the work.
But if these don’t bring you into closer contact with the Word of God, the whole impression will be gone in three months.”
We know that in all the ministry we do, one of the most important things we can ever accomplish is to help you get closer to the Word of God. One of the greatest things we can teach you is to read, learn from, and follow the Bible.
