Where Does God Want to Lead Me?
It has been so refreshing reading through the Psalms lately, and taking my time while I'm at it. Reading Psalms is like spending time with an old friend - I read Psalms and Proverbs every month for several years of my life.
So often I feel I've read Scripture to get through it, and of course the ultimate goal is that it would get through me, but there is something incredibly powerful about slowing down our Scripture reading so we can meditate on it more. So lately, I've been happily reading slower and picking out specific takeaways to chew on throughout the rest of the day.
In recent reading, take a look at the first part of Psalm 23 with me ...
"The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide and shield me]. I shall not lack. He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me besides the still and restful waters. He refreshes and restores my life (my self): He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him - not for my earning it, but] for His name's sake." (Psalm 23:1-3, Amplified).
So many people wonder where God wants to lead them in their lives. Psalm 23 gives us a glimpse:
Where does God want to lead me? To a place of rest!
