Enjoy God Forever

An ancient Christian creed states: "The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." 

Did you know we are supposed to enjoy God? Or that we can enjoy God. Those who follow Christ often experience an incredible inner joy and sense of God's nearness and help in their lives.

I believe God wants us to love and serve Him with great enjoyment. Just like any of us would want to be loved. We would want people to do it from authentic hearts, not out of duty or compulsion.

We can enjoy God, because God enjoys us. Before we consider it our duty to enjoy, serve and obey God, it helps immensely to know that God already loves and cares for us. He is on our side.

Psalm 118:7: "The Lord is on my side, and takes my part, He is among those who help me; therefore shall I see my desire established.." 

God is working in and through our lives. God is always putting forth more effort than us in our relationship. Our love towards Him is always in response to His gestures of love (1 Jn 4:19). As we daily consider the work that He is doing for us, it seems as if God is stirring us to enjoy Him!

Psalm 117:7, 12: Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you. What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me? [How can I repay Him for all His bountiful dealings?]
