A Call for 1 Million People to Fast and Pray

A Call to Courage. An invitation to encounter God in 2026 through prayer and fasting

NEWS RELEASE

Kansas City, MO – (Immediate Release 12/30/25) — Today, Christian leaders, pastors, ministries, and young influencers throughout the United States are supporting a call for one million people, especially young people, to fast and pray at the beginning of 2026 for the “Roaring Twenties Fast.”

This annual fast began in 2020 and will continue throughout the “Roaring Twenties.” This year our theme is “a call to courage.”

We know that one of the effects of fasting, prayer and being filled with the Holy Spirit is supernatural strength and courage to walk in God’s truth and love.

In the shadow of the tragedy surrounding Charlie Kirk, a profound spiritual urgency emerged that he spoke about often in his final season of leadership. Charlie believed the nation was standing at the edge of a genuine revival—one marked not by hype, but by courage, repentance, and conviction. He famously reminded those around him that “courage is a choice,” insisting that faith must be lived decisively each day.

On his desk sat three questions he returned to daily: What is something I can do for someone today? What is something I can do to add value to the world today? How can I honor God today? Those questions shaped his leadership and continue to inspire a generation committed to living out their faith boldly in a turning point moment for the Church and the nation.

At the same time, many powerful and encouraging reports are coming out lately of genuine revival, Bible sales increasing dramatically, and young people surging church attendance across the nation.

The aim of this fast is not the promotion of any one individual or ministry but rather a call to unity around rallying the next generation around the presence of Jesus. The desire is to fast and pray around the awakenings occurring on campuses and for the church to be awakened to what God is doing in this hour.

“God is moving in the next generation in a supernatural way. We believe in order to sustain what the Lord is doing we must intensify our desire and longing to seek Him”- Dr. Malachi O’Brien
