TikTok LIVE Creators Plan Freedom Fest: ‘Our Country Needs Revival’

By Alex Murashko, Jeremy Caverley

Oak Ridge, Tennesse — TikTok LIVE content creators plan to converge in a community just west of Knoxville to do what they already do on the popular social media platform — share the Gospel — only this time in-person during not only 4th of July celebrations, but for the two days after.

The event, called Freedom Fest, is tailored for just such a time as this.

“Considering the state of the world today, our country needs revival,” Freedom Fest co-organizer Chuck McDyer said in an interview with Media on Mission. “We are so divided. Not only within the Christian community but we as a nation are divided on so many points. “What we aim to do as a Christian community is come together across all denominational lines into this community to celebrate the freedom that we have in Christ.”

Four men who came to know each other on TikTok discovered they had one thing in common for sure – they all had Christ-centered content on their platforms.

Only months ago, after meeting each other, Wayne Giles and McDyer, formed a Christian content creator agency named Lost & Found Agency approved by TikTok to help other Christian content creators on the social media platform. The agency helps others navigate the world of TikTok, AI, and stay above the fray of disqualification from the site.

On July 4-6, these same TikTok LIVE creators and another 45 members of their agency currently registered, including KBLR, Blue Heart Ministries, and Psalm 91:1 Ministries, are hosting Freedom Fest to celebrate not only 4th of July festivities, but the freedom found in Jesus as an outreach to the community in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

“The outpouring of support from the TikTok community to help get this event going is incredible,” Giles said. “It's going to be an amazing event.”

McDyer adds, “We are going to praise, we are going to worship, we are going to fellowship, we are going to love on the community of Oak Ridge, all weekend long, and we're just gonna have church. We're coming together to say, 'Come as you are. Come and see what Jesus has done and what Jesus has specifically done in the lives of people who will be at the event to give their testimonies.'”

Co-organizer Charles Lucero shares his view of how the idea and now the reality of Freedom Fest happened.

“It went from a small conversation of us doing something together like a TikTok family reunion to this full-blown event that’s planned for a couple of weeks from now,” Lucero said. “We've come up with four nobodies (Freedom Fest co-organizers) who just want to tell everybody about Jesus. The cool thing about this is that there's not an ego amongst us. Everybody, I mean everybody just wants to serve Jesus. That's why its worked so well.”

Worship leader and co-organizer Joel Ruggiano told Media on Mission that he is excited to be a part of a group of Christian TikTok content creators and was one of the first 10 members of the Lost & Found Agency.

“It's not just that they claim to be a Christian. All of their stuff that they do on their platform is Christ-centered,” Ruggiano said.

When asked about what he would like to see happen at Freedom Fest, he said, “I'm looking to see what God's going to do when other people see 100 people or more coming from TikTok who are like-minded and are seeking His presence. Biblically, when two or more are gathered, the Lord says ‘I am there.’ Normally, it's when gathered physically. Now, we are in other states and countries, and we're still having that effect. Our job is to reach that community through what we're doing. So, I'm excited to see how much the Lord's going to move and show us those blessings. I’d like to see a revival in that community.”

Event Schedule

On Friday, July 4, we will gather with the community at Bissell Park to enjoy worship and fellowship while enjoying the fireworks display. Immediately following the fireworks, all are invited to an after-hours worship event at Lost and Found Fellowship.

On Saturday, July 5, Freedom Fest kicks off at noon. The day will be filled with worship, teachings, testimonies, and food. Prayer teams and Bibles will be available for all those in need. While the event is scheduled to end at 8pm, should the need for an additional time of prayer and worship arise, all are invited back to Lost and Found Fellowship for extended time of worship.

On Sunday, July 6, will begin at 830am at Melton Hill Lake with baptisms for all who desire or feel led to enter the water and publicly declare their faith in accordance with Scripture. Upon the completion of baptisms, we will return to Bissell Park for service, communion, continued worship, and food until 8pm.
