Turn Your Burdens into Breakthroughs | Chelsea Crockett

Burdens can weigh so heavily on our hearts. They stay there and can make us feel a variety of different feelings such as guilt, regret, sadness, and so much more.

Jesus knows our hearts and the burdens we carry so heavily day in and day out. He understands our struggles and our downfalls and wants to take them and carry them himself. When we let our burdens overpower us, we easily forget who God his and what his word says.

Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

This verse gives us one of God’s many promises. If we come to him, he will give us rest. God wants to take these burdens and turn them into breakthroughs by allowing us to run to him with open arms. We need to remember that God is our loving Father who wants to turn our weaknesses into triumphs.

If you need a little more convincing, take a look at 2 Corinthians 12:9. It says, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Maybe you’re coming from a place of regret. This area of your life is a weakness that keeps resurfacing over and over again, causing pain, sadness, and even loneliness. You push others away because you don’t want to burden them with the burdens of your own. Sound even slightly familiar?

When we have these burdens, God uses his mighty power to turn them into victories. You may not see it now, but wait a week, a month, or maybe even a year down the road, and you’ll see how God has used your burdens to shape you into who you are today.

Psalm 55:22 says, “Cast your burdens on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”

We’re only human, which explains why we let our burdens take such a hold on our lives. Maybe your burdens keep you up at night, thinking you can never be good enough. Maybe they cause you to push people out of your life and keep a distance from those you love. No matter the extremity of it, burdens keep us from being who God designed for us to be.

It’s okay to feel the pain of them, but it’s not okay to let them run your life. Learn the truth of what God says! His word provides more comfort than any worldly source or temporary satisfaction.

You are loved and made perfect in his image. What may seem like a burden to you may be an opportunity for God to take that and turn it into something great. 🙂
