The Impact of ‘Revival Town Podcast’: Reflections After 4 Years and 100,000 Downloads

It’s hard to believe that Revival Town Podcast has reached such an incredible milestone: 100,000 downloads and four years of ministry, conversation, and connection. As I reflect on the journey, it’s overwhelming to see how this platform has grown, not just in numbers, but in impact.
Over the past four years, Revival Town has become more than just a podcast—it’s a community, a space for meaningful conversations, and a place to bring light to the world around us.

From day one, I’ve had the pleasure of co-hosting this journey with my friend Andy King. Revival Town Podcast was birthed during COVID, a time when both Andy’s wife and my own were battling serious health conditions. What started as something fun and therapeutic quickly developed into so much more. Over the years, Andy and I have built a deep friendship and unique chemistry that brings energy to each episode, adding laughter, authenticity, and an unexpected dynamic that listeners have come to love. Together, we’ve transformed Revival Town Podcast into more than just a show; it’s a connection point for people worldwide, rooted in faith, humor, and authenticity.
Here are some of the key things we have learned during this journey:
1. The Power of Stories
One of the most profound lessons we’ve learned is the power of stories. Every guest we bring on the podcast has a unique story—whether it’s a musician, author, pastor, or influencer—each one brings a perspective that challenges, encourages, and inspires. These stories have been the foundation of Revival Town, showing me the incredible ways God is moving in people’s lives, both in big cities and small towns.
Through the years, we’ve interviewed amazing guests like Amy Grant, Dallas Jenkins from The Chosen, Carlos Whittaker, Ray Comfort, Natalie Runion, and Martin Smith. These conversations remind me that we all have a part to play in God’s greater story, and it’s a privilege to amplify these voices. There’s a special power in storytelling that breaks down barriers and fosters connection, and we’ve seen it firsthand as our listeners engage with these voices.
2. Consistency is Key
When asked what has contributed most to our growth and success, our answer has always been consistency. We have released a new episode every Monday for four years. Even when we’ve aired a repeat interview, we make sure to record a fresh intro and outro to keep each episode engaging and relevant. This commitment to showing up week after week has been key to building a loyal audience and steady growth.
Whether it’s providing thought-provoking conversations or simply offering a little laughter in the middle of a busy week, the act of showing up with quality content has made all the difference. And it’s not just about the numbers—it’s about the hearts and minds we’ve been able to reach and the impact we’ve made together.
3. The Importance of Community
A podcast isn’t just about the hosts and the guests—it’s about the listeners. From the emails and messages we receive about how an episode has impacted someone’s life, to the online conversations happening across social media platforms, we’ve realized that we’re building something bigger than just a podcast—we’re building the Kingdom. We’re creating a community of people who care about living out their faith, making a difference, and supporting each other in the process.
4. Take Time to Laugh
In a world full of setbacks, stress, and division, we’ve come to appreciate the importance of laughter—for ourselves and for our listeners. While we’ve tackled some heavy topics, we’ve also made sure to have a blast along the way. Humor is a gift, a way of reminding our listeners that faith doesn’t always have to be serious. We can talk about life’s struggles and challenges while still finding joy in the journey.
It’s often said that laughter is the best medicine, and we’ve experienced that firsthand as our audience connects with us over lighthearted moments. Whether we’re sharing a hilarious story or laughing at ourselves, it’s important to make our listeners smile.
