Roaring Twenties Fast
2022
“Calling 1 million young people to
Fast and Pray in the Roaring Twenties.”
On November 23, 2021, next generation faith leaders joined with prominent Christian leaders and musicians for the annual Roaring Twenties Fast Nationwide Vision Call in preparation for the launch of Roaring Twenties Fast 2022. The goal is for one million people, especially young people to fast and pray at the beginning of 2022 and throughout the decade. The Roaring Twenties Fast is about the fame of Jesus and His Presence in families, churches, and nations for the sake of the Gospel.
The call included times of worship from Mack Brock, Andrew Meek of IHOPKC, and an exhortation from popular Christian artist Danny Gokey. Evangelist Matt Brown, Evangelist Jon Groves, and Dr. Malachi O’Brien shared the new theme for 2022, “The Gift of Hunger”. Dr. Ronnie Floyd, one of the foremost Christian leaders in America, shared about the power of fasting and prayer in his own life and ministry.
At the beginning of 2020, a new generation followed in the footsteps of great faith leaders like Bill Bright, Ronnie Floyd, Jentezen Franklin, Lou Engle and others by choosing to seek God in fasting and prayer. Now more than ever, next generation voices like Robby Gallaty, Tony Suarez, Jon Groves, Shane Pruitt, Shane Idleman, Matthew Maher, Yale Kim, Josiah Keneally, Paul Worcester, Rashawn Copeland, Roger Coles and others are raising the banner for revival in this generation.
The Roaring Twenties Fast in 2022 will be driven by stories of hope and inspiration on all social media channels and in the metaverse. Thousands of young people will be starting 2022 with fasting and prayer. From Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Discord, YouVersion Bible App, and YouTube the digital pulpit will ignite the Digital Billy Grahams of this generation.
Jentezen Franklin, a leading voice in the fasting movement and best-selling author, states “We must get to the place where we are desperate for God again. We must begin to desire Him more than food or drink. Let us be filled with the Bread of Life instead of the refuse of religion. Begin to make fasting a regular discipline, and see how God answers your hunger!”
“God has established the whole kingdom of heaven on this principle: those who can’t live without the greater things of God will not live without them. Those who can live without the greater things will, in fact, go without them. -Corey Russell

How do I fast?
We are encouraging a 21-day fast starting on the first Sunday in January. (January 2nd to January 22nd, 2022)
Important: Young people be sure to talk with your parents, and your family’s doctor about how to safely fast.
Please join us in fasting however God leads you during this time.
The typical Biblical fast is going without food for a period of time, but there are other types of fasts you may choose from:
A typical Biblical fast is going without food for a single meal, one day or a longer period of time.
A “Daniel Fast” is eating only fruits, vegetables, and whole grains for a period of time.
A “Juice Fast” is only doing juices or liquids for a period of time.
An entertainment fast is going without entertainment for a period of time.
A social media fast is going without social media for a period of time.
You may choose to do a typical Biblical Fast going without food for 1 day, and then another type of fast for the remainder of the 21 days.
You could also Fast by skipping one meal per day for a period of days, and spend that extra time seeking God in prayer.
The primary objective is to deny ourselves, and make space and time in our lives to seek God in prayer and the reading of His Word for a greater move of God in our lives, and our world. Physical hunger often ignites a great spiritual hunger in our lives.
