There’s a New Wind Blowing Across America; Can You Feel It?

By Alex Murashko

There’s a rapidly growing consensus that a movement of God is happening in America. A new wind. Also, for those paying close attention, the Holy Spirit isn’t just confined to one nation. The world is witnessing epic change as Jesus is pronounced boldly, and evil is exposed exponentially to the Light.

Can you feel it?

Followers of Christ, many of whom are in leadership positions, are making the movement – the revolution – known.

“There’s a new wind blowing across America," states evangelist and Harvest Fellowship pastor Greg Laurie. “It’s a wind of freedom, optimism, hope, and yes, patriotism. What’s even more remarkable is that this movement isn’t just being carried by the older generation — it’s gaining momentum among the young.”

Laurie continues to write in his post, “The last time I felt such cultural stirring was during the Jesus Movement when an entire generation found hope and transformation through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That was when I personally came to faith in Christ, and it was the start of a movement that changed countless lives.”

Coupled with this current move of God is a lightning-quick news cycle. I’ve never seen such important and crucial news break so often – sometimes daily, sometimes moment by moment – but consistent and powerful.

“With leaders boldly standing for what is right, like protecting fairness in women’s sports, defending life, and upholding religious liberty, we’re seeing real, tangible change,” Lee University professor Jason Robinson told Think Eternity News. “Even on college campuses, there’s an excitement growing as young people embrace the values that make this country strong.”

Robinson believes that what is happening in the U.S. is more than simply a passing moment.

“There’s no denying it. God is moving across this nation, stirring hearts and awakening a new generation to truth, freedom, and faith,” he said.

Prestonwood Baptist Church senior pastor Jack Graham applauded a recent youth outreach event held at his church and echoed Laurie’s assessment about the current move of God.

“God is moving among our students here @Prestonwood and I’m reading posts from all over the nation about revival breaking out at similar Freedom events among young people including university students,” Graham posted on X. “Something extraordinary is happening and we are seeing the Hand of God at work saving, restoring, delivering and empowering. I haven’t seen anything like this since the Jesus Movement of the 60s. Praise God! Thank you @shane_pruitt78 for preaching with clarity and conviction.”

“Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” (Acts 2:41)

Social influencer and national prayer leader Malachi O’Brien, who has been tracking and reporting on movements throughout the nation, previously told Think Eternity News he is absolutely sure “something new” is happening.

“At the end of the Asbury Revival in 2023 the President of Asbury said that what God began there at the university would spread, and it certainly has spread,” O’Brien said. “In the history of revival, no two revivals have ever looked the same. God is always doing something new. He never repeats. He often moves in unconventional and unorthodox ways. I believe we are seeing the mercy drops of revival in culture we never could have imagined. The greater downpour is very near.”

“When people ask what revival looks like, the answer is simple. It looks like Jesus,” he said.

Globally, Christian leaders report that God is moving powerfully, as outlined by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) in Decision Magazine.

Churches in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America are partnering with BGEA to proclaim the Good News of Christ in 2025. Leaders and churches are preparing for this year’s Franklin Graham Festivals, Will Graham Celebrations and other events.

Decision Magazine reports:

“This is the time to do it,” said one Latin American leader. Asian, African and European leaders are saying the same. “This is the Kairos moment,” said a leader in Europe, while another added candidly, “We would be stupid if we would not use this God-given opportunity.”

Leading up to Franklin Graham’s March Festival in Addis Ababa, believers are on fire for the Gospel. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” said veteran Crusade director Hans Mannegren. “We are already seeing people come to Christ.”

A schedule of BGEA’s Gospel outreach events can be found in Decision Magazine’s article, This Is the Time
